Professional background
Immediately before White Oak, he was Deputy Chief Compliance Officer for a private equity fund in New York. He previously spent over 11 years at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C., after beginning his legal career as a corporate and securities associate at Baker & McKenzie.
In these roles, Mr. Beatty provided in-depth legal analysis for private funds and developed compliance policies for registered investment advisers and broker-dealers. He fulfilled regulatory reporting requirements and advised on SEC enforcement actions and complex corporate transactions.

Mr. Beatty holds a J.D. from Brigham Young University Law School, a Master of Arts from BYU’s Kennedy Center for International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from BYU.
