Professional background
Before White Oak, he was Chief Investment Officer at Mubadala GE Capital PJSC (MGEC) in Abu Dhabi, a joint venture between GE Capital and the Abu Dhabi Government. MGEC’s portfolio reached $6 billion, with substantial healthcare, power, commercial real estate and mid-market leveraged finance investments in the Middle East, Europe and North America.
At MGEC, Mr. Ruth chaired the Investment, Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Risk Management Committees. He has also served on the boards of publicly traded and privately held companies.
His senior GE Capital roles in North America and Europe included President of Grupo Financiero GE Capital Mexico, and Chief Risk Officer and Head of Asset Management for GE Capital Fleet Services and for GE Capital, Capital Solutions Europe. Fleet Services was then the world’s largest lessor of car and light truck fleets. Capital Solutions Europe focused on asset-based lending and leasing, with a $23 billion portfolio across 14 European countries.
Before joining GE Capital, Mr. Ruth spent 10 years at Bank of America, holding senior positions in its North American Corporate Banking Division.
Education and qualifications
Mr. Ruth holds an M.B.A. with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a B.A. in Economics, magna cum laude, from Colorado College.
