John is Managing Partner of White Oak Merchant Partners, LLC, the broker-dealer arm of White Oak Global Advisors. He has over 30 years of international investment banking experience and is also an advisor and investor in emerging growth companies across industries.
Professional background
He was previously Head of U.S. Investment Banking at Mizuho Group, the Japanese universal bank, having joined in 2013 as Co-Head of U.S. Coverage. He helped lead its shift from a U.S. commercial lender to a diversified corporate and investment banking platform, including leading the negotiation, integration and sourcing of its $46 billion acquisition of Royal Bank of Scotland’s U.S. business.
Before Mizuho, John spent 20 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, including 18 years in London. His work covered technology, healthcare and consumer investment banking, alongside leadership roles in the U.K. Corporate & Investment Banking team.
Across his career, he has advised on well over $100 billion in capital raising and financial advisory transactions around the world.

John holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Chicago.
