Mr. Katz launched Finacity Corporation and has overseen every phase of its development as Chairman. He has more than 35 years of experience in asset-backed securitization, spanning investment banking and specialty financing.
Professional background
As Managing Director at Smith Barney, Mr. Katz was responsible for all issuance of new asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities. He previously worked at Prudential Securities as Managing Director and Co-Head of the Mortgage and Asset Capital Division.
At AutoBond Acceptance Corporation, he served as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chairman. His work included building a centralized servicing and underwriting platform, developing its supporting technology infrastructure and organizing a national marketing effort.
Mr. Katz has also served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Trade & Forfaiting in the Americas.
Education and qualifications
Mr. Katz graduated from Princeton University with a BSE in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
